Joy can seep gently

Hidden in sunlight streaming through windows

She can be so quiet

you might not hear her

as your morning coffee warms your hands

She’s there in the stillness

as you notice spring buds burst from once bare trees

That’s when you realise how much you’ve longed for her

How grey the days were before she knocked on your heart’s door

Before you can yell “Too soon!”

It’s too late.

She’s tah-dah here

bursting through barriers, your lungs gasping for air, filling your soul to its brim full before she leaves

Disappearing like liquid memories through your fingers

just when you try to catch her and keep her forever.

  1. Very pretty flowers! My Easter Lilies have already started growing in my little garden. I’m always amazed at how they can brave the cold weather to bloom at Easter time.
