A successful author once lived here!

My parents are visiting from Tasmania and staying with us for a little bit before they head off on their European adventure.

We took them to Portobello Market at Notting Hill. They treated us to a lovely brunch.

We then walked and talked up and down Portobello Road. It was such a delight to see my parents enjoying the place.

On our way back, we spotted this blue plaque on the wall of a residential home.

We stopped like a tourist and took a photo!

We weren’t the only ones doing this amid the flow of human traffic on that road. So I didn’t feel too embarrassed.

I get my love of writing from my mother. She too loves to share what she’s seen and experienced through words.

She self-published a book of her personal essays some years ago. Now she says she’s too old to be called a professional writer. But she still ploughs on and writes. She can’t help herself.

I’d say that’s the mark of a writer.
