Favourite Author

At the moment my favourite author is Trent Dalton.

He exploded on to the Australian literary scene with his incredible first novel, Boy Swallows Universe in 2018.

I finished it just before I left Sydney to live in London.

He has a stunning way with words. The way he describes love, loss, and longing is so beautiful, it hurts.

I made the mistake of reading Boy Swallows Universe at the hairdressers once.

I couldn’t stop crying. The young man cutting my hair looked concerned.

Someone promptly brought out some Japanese green tea for me.

Dalton has published two books since then. Love Stories and All Our Shimmering Skies.

So good.
