Tower bridge on New Year’s Eve

We were going to go mark the new year at Westminster. We went to meet my husband at his work and walked past Tower Bridge, all lit up in the darkness.

We never made it to Big Ben in the end. There were too many rowdy people who had a bit too much to drink. I worried I would lose my son in the throng.

  1. Sounds a little like the San Francisco waterfront a few years back, but there were fireworks (as well as some requisite American gunfire). Though I can’t say how it compares to Sydney, I can understand the hesitancy regarding the “celebratory” crowds. Cheers!
